Holiday!

Yei my one week holiday started today, yippee! We took a train to our cottage after waking up and now we're enjoying silence and beautiful nature far away from busy cities. Tomorrow morning first I'll swim in the lake and then do some yoga with my mom. Later I'll just take sun and read books - can life get any better!

I just hope that tomorrow we won't find any dead mouses from our kitchen. They had eaten a hole to the dog food package and torn out the food so now my parents have set some traps to the cupboards to catch the litte devils. I would prefer some more peaceful way of capturing them but I don't think I have any word in this case. Well, tomorrow we'll see the results. Be safe, little ones! Go eat somewhere else!

Yesterday

... after work we went to listen reggae in Arabia, Helsinki. These pictures are taken from the coast in Arabia where we walked the dog. That evening the sunset was so beautiful but unfortunatelly couldn't catch the same colours to the picture. Have to get that proper camera!

Midsummer

Sorry for disappearing suddenly for so many days! Last week was busy at work and then me, mr. R and B took off to our cottage to celebrate Midsummer with my family. We ate well, swam every morning and evening in the lake, enjoyed traditional wood heated sauna and just relaxed - life was good!

Helsinki Samba Carnaval 09

Yesterday after work I was suprised with the amount of people in the center. I had totally forgoten the Brazilian party that is part of Helsinki Week celebration. The city was packed with people watching the samba parade. We found a place in Esplanade park where we could see the parade passing by and eat at the same time. Later walked with the dog to a small island close to our home where we chilled for a moment and enjoyed the last glimpses of sun before a huge rain storm hit Helsinki. Remember: summer time in Finland you should ALWAYS carry both an umbrella and sunglasses with you - you never know how the weather will be!
