LAKE BAIKAL - ICE SKATING AROUND SHAMAN ROCK

After arriving to Olkhon we went ice skating on the first day with Rene, a volunteer in Nikita's guest house. The weather was beautiful and not too cold, perfect for some easy sports! The pictures don't do justice for the oh-so-incredible lake but hopefully you can catch some of the feeling that it has. Baikal is the deepest lake in the world and contains 20% of all fresh running water on the planet - crazy feeling standing on the ice and seeing through it way down! So beautiful and scary at the same time! If you ever go to Siberia, which I highly recommend, you can't skip this one. It's a must see!

Pictures: 7, 8, 9 + 14 by me, 1, 2 , 11, 12, 13 by Janna, rest by Rene - thank you both!
